Résidence at MALIDOMA POPENGUINE

We’re excited to welcome @ghizlane_sahli as one of the first artists-in-residence at Malidoma Popenguine.

Based in Marrakech, Ghizlane is an artist and architect working across sculpture, embroidery, drawing and installation. She transforms discarded materials with silk thread, creating work that moves between the body, nature and the sea.

During her residency, Ghizlane will work between Popenguine and Thiès, spending time with the Tapestry Factory of Thiès and women artisans—bringing her own material practice into conversation with Senegalese textile traditions, handwork and ways of making.

Her work is held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Institut du Monde Arabe, Fondation Gandur pour l’Art and MACAAL, among others.
